2.1.  Where can I find a billing invoice of my webhosting service?

Complete Billing History can be viewed in your control panel (www.yourdomain.com/menu). Once inside your control panel, click on the Billing History option. A hard copy of your invoice may be printed out for your records using your web browser. All billing is handled in house by our billing department. If you have any questions regarding your statement, please contact us.

2.4.  What is your 30 day guarantee?

Our 30 day guarantee states that if you are not satisfied with our web hosting service, you may cancel your hosting account within 30 days of signup and recieve a complete refund. This is a no-questions-asked refund. This guarantee only applies to our Web Hosting products and services and does not apply to domain name registration. Read our Guarantee section for full details.

2.7.  You are a Canadian Company, why are your prices in US Dollars?

We deal with customers internationally and are accustomed to using US dollars. You have the option to purchase our services with Canadian Funds. We use a conversion rate of 1.5 to convert between US and Canadian dollars. Domain Name Registrations may only be charged in American Dollars (except for .ca domains). All of our web hosting pages have Canadian dollar counterparts. If you would like to be billed in Canadian Dollars, please state this in the "Comments" section of the order form.

Yes, Canadian residents are required by law to pay GST.

2.9.  Who do I contact for technical help for my website?

3.1.  What is considered Spam?

Sending unsolicited e-mails, such as undesired advertising e-mails is considered Spam. If you are uncertain whether your e-mails will be considered Spam or not, contact support to find out. Customers found guilty of sending spam will have their accounts immediately disabled. Check out our Spam Policy Website for more information.

3.2.  What effects does Spam cause?

Spam originating from our servers can cause serious damage, not only to your website, but to all of our customers. Complaints due to spam can cause our mail servers, and hosting servers to be blacklisted by other ISPs, or by Anti-Spam Authorities. Sending mass emails can clog up our bandwidth and reduce the speed and performance of our customer's websites. Therefore, we have a zero-toleration policy on our servers for spammers.

3.3.  What are FastWebServer's Policies on Spam?

FastWebServer has a strict policy regarding spam and spammers. The spammer's account will be suspended immediately. They will be liable for any incur charges for their illegal activities. They will have to pay tech support $150/hour to clean up. Please read our Spam Information Website for more information about spam and our policy towards it.

3.4.  Am I protected from Spam?

FastWebServer employs many levels of spam filtering and protection. On the first level, our mail servers are designed to catch the most obvious spam and virus emails that arrive. Next, we have enabled SpamGuard and Quaranteen simple email filtering tools on all Linux Hosting accounts. Finally, our lastest addition is the advanced SpamAssassin Filter, which can be enabled for any account.

5.1.  How long will it take to setup my hosting account?

A new order is usually processed in less than 4 hours. We will send you a welcome note with important information about your account via email. You may begin uploading your files immediately with your FTP account or through your web-based control panel.

5.2.  Can I begin transferring files to my hosting account before my domain name transfers or is activated?

Yes. We assign a unique IP address to each website. You can use an FTP client to transfer files using this IP address with your user name and password. If you use Microsoft FrontPage extensions, you can 'publish' your site to our server instead of using FTP.

Bandwidth depends on the webhosting package that your account allows. We have redundant triple T3 & multiple T1 lines directly connected to Internet backbone that can handle large amounts of traffic.

5.14.  Am I sharing the server resources with other websites?

Yes. FastWebServer monitors the servers 24/7 to ensure that all the websites are provided with adequet resources. Each website is given a certain amount of bandwidth and server resources that are uninterruptible by other websites. If, in the event a website requires a different service, resource or other hardware, FastWebServer will seamlessly move the website to a server that will provide its needs. This will be completed by our professional tech staff.

5.15.  What is a dedicated server and what does it include?

A dedicated server commits all of its resources and bandwidth to one website. This is an option for a very large, resource-intensive website. For smaller companies and personal websites a virtual hosting server is recommended. For large volumes of traffic and high processing, a large company may wish to consider a Dedicated Server Package.

You can call us, send us a fax at or use the Online Order Form to order a web hosting package. Your website will be set up within 4 hours. Your domain name will be functioning within 72 hours if you have also ordered or transferred your domain name.

Daily backups are made on all FastWebServer web hosting servers. It is strongly recommended for anyone that has a website that they maintain their own backups because though daily backups are completed, FastWebServer is not responsible if the files are corrupted or cannot be restored.

Transfer your files using an FTP client (such as WS_FTP or Fetch) If you use FrontPage extensions, you need to "publish" your website from within FrontPage.

Find a web hosting company that fits your needs, think about support level you need. Check the speed and reliability of the connection, compare the standard features and add-ons, look for any guarantee they offer, check the price and read carefully the service agreement before you sign up.

If you plan to use ASP, ASP.net, or Microsoft database connectivity then you should select a Windows Hosting Plan. Otherwise, a Linux Hosting Plan is a wise decision based on its speed, reliability, and support for nearly all major scripting languages along with MySQL.

5.29.  Which version of PHP is supported on your system?

Fastwebserver supports PHP 4. This is the latest and very stable version of PHP.

5.30.  Do you offer SSL for all hosting packages?

Yes, you have the option to use your own secure certificate or the server-wide (shared) certificate. We use GeoTrust 128-bit certificates. Read "Security" in our E Commerce Section for more information.

5.31.  What can I do if I lose my password?

When your hosting package was initially setup, you were sent a "Welcome Letter" email. Your website username, password, and all technical information can be found in this email. If you have lost this email, or no longer have access to it, we can resend the welcome letter to you. Simply contact us to request a resend of the Welcome Letter.

If your e-mail account is not working, you can send us a fax (at (416) 385-7765) with your company letter head or some proof of personal ID (such as a Picture ID card) to request that we change the email address on your account.
