The Redirect URL option allows you to change the file that
appears when a user enters a specific web address. For example,
if you have a number of old URL's for your site's homepage
that are no longer current but are still being used by people,
you can use the Redirect URL option to redirect these old
URL's to your current homepage. This allows people who are
still using the old URL's to have access to your current homepage
and prevents them from receiving outdated information or error
messages.
Conflict
with FrontPage Extensions
In order to use the Redirect URL option, Microsoft FrontPage
Extensions must be disabled on your account. If they are enabled,
you must use your version of Microsoft FrontPage redirect
URL's If the Microsoft FrontPage Extensions option is enabled,
you will not have access to the Redirect URL option; instead
you will see the following message if you try to access it.
